Then, on June 2nd

Join us for the grand opening of the new pond, where there will be food, fun, fishing, and prizes!

The Ribbon Cutting starts off the event at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 2nd. There will be live music, plenty of fishing, prizes, local vendors, and so much more. The Idaho Fish and Game will also be supporting the event by stocking the pond with a fresh supply of trout. Bring the whole family because this event will be a blast! Safelink Internet will also be there with some giveaways and prizes, so be sure to watch out for our tent as well.

More about the project:

The Trout Pond, located at Burley Freedom Park is being restored as a safe, local place to enjoy trout fishing for everyone’s use. This is an ongoing work in progress that includes deepening, widening, lining, and adding rocks to the pond along with future plans of a walking path, restrooms, and other upgrades. This pond has existed since the early 1950’s but its condition deteriorated to the point the Idaho Fish & Game Department has not stocked it since 2010. Restoration efforts began in 2017 to make it a great place to enjoy, and there is still more to do. The pond is a perfect trout habitat but has needed significant attention. This ongoing project is funded strictly through charitable donations and volunteers. 100% of the donations will go to pond project and will not be used for any other purpose.
